What should your SMILE or SMILE pro quote include?
A SMILE or SMILE pro quote should name the procedure and surgeon, state whether the price covers one or both eyes, and list what is included in the total in Korean won. This page helps you compare those details. For current SNU prices, please request a quote from the clinic.
Our Korean fee list covers services not covered by health insurance, but it does not list a separate, current SMILE pro package. The broader laser-surgery categories are not a substitute for a SMILE pro quote. Ask for a dated quote for your recommended procedure, including any conditions attached to an offer.
Why do SMILE and SMILE pro prices differ?
SMILE and SMILE pro use different generations of equipment: VISUMAX 500 and VISUMAX 800 respectively at SNU. Before comparing prices, check that the quotes cover the same procedure, surgeon, one or both eyes, examinations and follow-up care.
The eye examination determines which procedures are suitable for you. You can read about the differences in our SMILE, SMILE pro and LASIK comparison.

Are both eyes, eye tests, medicines and follow-up included?
Ask for an itemised quote so you can see what is included and what costs extra.
| Item | Details to check |
|---|---|
| Procedure | SMILE or SMILE pro, the surgeon, and whether the price is for one or both eyes. |
| Before surgery | Consultation, examinations and any additional tests. |
| After surgery | Medicines, eye drops, and how many check-ups are included or how long follow-up is covered. |
| Total | Any extra charges or applicable taxes, and the terms for further treatment. |
A lower advertised price may include different services. Ask the clinic to mark each item as included or charged separately.
How do you compare prices in KRW and other currencies?
Use the total in Korean won (KRW) when comparing quotes. If you convert it to US dollars or another currency, note the exchange rate and date. Your bank or card provider may use a different rate or add fees.
Before paying, confirm which payment methods the clinic accepts and which currency you will be charged in. If you are budgeting in USD, CNY, MNT or RUB, keep the original KRW quote alongside your conversion.
What should you check before paying a deposit?
Check how long the quote is valid, whether a deposit is required, and the cancellation and refund terms. If there is an offer, ask which conditions apply. Prices in an older article or a previous promotion may differ from your current quote.
If a discount requires surgery on the day of the examination, ask how the offer works if you are not suitable for surgery that day. Keep the agreed terms with your treatment plan.
