ICL surgery costs in Korea: what to check in your quote

Compare lens types, costs for one or both eyes, and the care included in an ICL quote.

What should your ICL surgery quote include?

An ICL quote should list the lens for each eye, whether astigmatism correction is needed, and the cost of examinations, surgery and follow-up. This page explains what to compare. Please request a quote from SNU for current prices in Korean won.

Our Korean fee list has separate entries for ICL and TICL surgery on both eyes, but those entries show a September 2020 update date. They do not confirm the current package or any discount for international patients. Ask for a dated quote for your proposed lenses and surgeon.

Does the type of ICL affect the quote?

A toric ICL corrects astigmatism as well as myopia. Your quote should name the lens model and state whether each eye needs a toric lens or a separate lens order.

Terms such as “EVO” or “premium” do not explain a price difference on their own. Compare the lens, surgeon and included care. Our ICL lens guide explains the lens types and the measurements used to choose them.

Is the price for one eye or both, and what else is included?

First, check whether the price is for one eye or both. Then ask which examinations, medicines and follow-up visits are included alongside the lenses and surgery.

ItemDetails to check
Each lensThe model, whether it is standard or toric, and any lens-ordering charge.
Examinations and treatmentTests before surgery, the operation, eye drops and check-ups afterwards.
Other servicesAny charges for interpreting or medical documents you need.
Further treatmentThe terms for extra visits or lens repositioning, replacement or removal.

Ask for any separate fees in writing. The public fee list may not cover every part of your treatment plan.

How do you compare ICL prices in different currencies?

Use the written total in Korean won (KRW) to compare ICL quotes in Korea. For a USD estimate or another currency, note the conversion date and exchange rate. Before paying, check the billing currency, accepted payment methods and any conversion fees charged by your bank or card provider.

Make sure each quote covers the same number of eyes. The lens type and included follow-up care also need to match for a useful comparison.

What should you check before accepting an ICL quote?

Check that each quote covers the same number of eyes, lens type, surgeon and length of follow-up. Ask when the quote expires, whether a deposit is needed and what the cancellation terms are if your examination changes the lens plan or shows that surgery is unsuitable.

Before a lens is ordered, ask when it is expected to arrive and whether any charges become non-refundable at that point. A price from another clinic, country or year does not confirm SNU's current fees or terms.
